About this project

Independent prototype based on SFBA's 2026 report — not endorsed or operated by SFBA. SFBA has not approved this site, its campaign wording or its public-comment suggestions, and doesn't operate it. No swimming, paddling or community group is a partner unless it's named here with its permission (none are yet).

What this is

An independently built demonstration of a coalition action center for San Francisco Bay shoreline access, offered to the San Francisco Boardsailing Association for review. It turns findings from SFBA's 2026 report into specific actions anyone who uses the Bay can take: swimmers, paddlers, rowers, sailors, board sports, anglers and beach visitors.

What campaign statuses mean

Draft (not verified)
Draft. Details have not been verified. This page is not collecting public comments.
Monitoring
Monitoring. No comment opportunity has been confirmed yet. Details below are not yet verified.
Open for comment
Open for comment. Write now: the decision-maker and how to reach them are below.
Closed
Closed. This comment opportunity has ended. Please do not submit comments through the old process.

A campaign is only marked open for comment after its decision-maker, submission route and any deadline have been checked against an official source, and the date of that check is shown on the page.

Using AI to draft a comment

The comment helper doesn't call any AI service itself. It builds a prompt from the campaign and your optional answers. You choose whether to paste it into ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, using your own free or paid account. The prompt tells the chatbot not to invent experiences, credentials or facts, and to ask you questions first if you haven't shared enough. You review and send the comment yourself. You can always write without AI using the talking points on each page.

Corrections and maintenance

Campaigns are plain text files in the project repository, so anyone can see what changed and when, and anyone can propose a fix. Pull requests are the fastest way to correct a date, contact or fact, add a source, or add a new campaign. Each campaign page has a "Fix it on GitHub" link that opens the file in GitHub's editor and creates the pull request for you; no git knowledge needed. See the contributing guide for what reviewers check.

If you'd rather not edit, open an issue describing the problem or the evidence about how a decision affects your activity.

If SFBA adopts it

The project is built to be handed over: the repository can be transferred to an SFBA-controlled account, linked from sfba.org or served from a custom subdomain. Editorial ownership, the disclaimer and these pages would then be updated to reflect SFBA's decisions.
